TRAMA:  Negli anni 80, uno scrittore newyorkese, Ned Weeks, e una dottoressa, Emma Brookner, cercano di combattere l'ignoranza e il pregiudizio sulla diffusione dell'HIV nella comunità gay, chiamata all'epoca dei fatti "cancro dei gay".

Film TV di genere drammatico, ma non per questo brutto, anzi, il film è molto toccante e ha una bella storia alle spalle, parlando, forse più del famoso film "Pride", dell'AIDS e delle sue conseguenze. Nonimato in vari premi, fra cui anche gli Emmy (nel 2014) e i Golden Globe (nel 2015), ha anche ricevuto svariati premi, soprattutto lodando l'attore protagonista.

Parlando del cast, esso annovera, fra gli altri, Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Wayne/Hulk nel MCU) nel ruolo del protagonista, Julia Roberts nel ruolo della dottoressa e, fra gli amici di Ned, anche Jim Parsons (Sheldon Cooper di The big bang theory).
