Corto Maltese è uno dei personaggi fumettistici più noti di tutti i tempi, creato da Hugo Pratt (fumettista italiano tra i più famosi) nel 1967.

 

Corto Maltese nasce il 10 luglio 1887 a La Valletta, sull'isola di Malta. Il padre è un marinaio inglese della Cornovaglia, nipote di una strega dell'Isola di Man; sua madre è una gitana di Siviglia, modella del pittore Ingres. Dopo aver studiato in una scuola ebraica maltese inizia la sua avventurosa vita in giro per il mondo da circa il 1900 al 1929. Nel 1965 si desume che l'avventuriero sia già morto da tempo anche se non è mai stata fissata una data di scomparsa.

Io ho letto un paio di storie, Una ballata dal mare salato ed un'altra ambientata a Venezia, entrambe raccolte in quella serie di Repubblica sui fumetti.

Boh.

Sarò un tipo poco poetico, ma non l'ho apprezzato chissà quanto.

Io ho letto 3 o 4 Corto e li ho apprezzati molto, sia per il contenuto che per le immagini.
