Pom Poko (Pom Poko, battaglie tanuki dell'era Heisei) è un film d'animazione del 1994 diretto da Isao Takahata di cui il produttore esecutivo è Hayao Miyazaki.

 

Ambientato nel 1994 (l'era Heisei è quella iniziata nel 1989 con la morte del vecchio Imperatore Hirohito e l'ascesa al trono di suo figlio Akihito) il film narra la storia dei tanuki per riconquistare l'area di Tama nei pressi di Tokyo, strappata agli animali per farne un nuovo quartiere residenziale. I tanuki sono creature folkloriche giapponesi basate sui cani procioni, animali dell'Estremo Oriente simili ai tassi e ai procioni occidentali, e secondo le leggende sono maestri nel travestimento e nel mutare forma ma in qualche modo ingenui e distratti. Le creature si organizzano e tentano prima con le buone e poi con le cattive di impedire l'espansione urbana e la speculazione edilizia che minacciano di distruggere per sempre il loro habitat.

 

 

Non mi è dispiaciuto, ma l'ho trovato troppo lungo e avrei evitato certi riferimenti a certe parti anatomiche... Finale malinconico molto bello. Uno dei migliori film Ghibli non di Miyazaki.
